Oil is not the best thing for trombones to use - it's messy and used up quickly (not to mention the SMELL).  But if you MUST oil, this is how you do it.

How to GREASE a Trombone Slide (with slide cream)

It is important that you use a product that is a TROMBONE SLIDE CREAM.

Do NOT USE TUNING SLIDE GREASE!!!

If using Trombotine or another cream besides what is shown, you can just use a dab of the cream and a spritz of water.
