Required Calendar Dates:

Understanding the Band Calendar

Band Group Assignments:

  • Your child will be assigned a band group (example: blue band 6, gold band 7) ​

  • You will be notified by email of your child's band group assignment by:

    • Seventh Grade: October 1st​

    • Sixth Grade: Beginning of Quarter 2

  • See below for attendance requirements

Attendance:

  • Attendance at all after school rehearsals and concerts are required!

    • example: All blue band 6 students attend both blue band after school rehearsals and both blue band concerts​

  • Please reserve all snow dates. If there is inclement weather (school closing) on your child's rehearsal or concert day, then we will use the reserved snow date. Attendance is still required. 

  • You will receive a paper copy of the calendar at the beginning of the year. While we will send out email reminders of required events, please notate these dates in a calendar for your own records. 

Required Dates: 

After-School Rehearsals

  • 3:30 - 4:25 pm ​

  • Mercer Middle School

  • Activity Bus Provided 

Seventh Grade ONLY:

Assessment Performance​ Concert

  • March; 

    • details TBD​; MIGHT BE ON A SATURDAY

  • Music Concert, Music SOL

  • Students will travel to another LCPS school and perform for a set of adjudicators

  • We would love your help chaperoning!!

Concerts ​

  • Start times:

    • Sixth Grade start times: 6:30, 7:15, or 8:00 pm​ (staggered concerts)

    • Seventh Grade start times: all at 7:00; or staggered concerts at 6:30, 7:15, 8:00 pm

  • Locations:

    • Sixth Grade: Mercer​ Middle School Auditorium

    • Seventh Grade: Mercer M.S. or John Champe H.S. Auditorium
